Campio

Why Campio

“In terms of nature, Chile has nothing to envy any other country. The only thing we lack is tourism development.”

How it started

“A few years ago I was traveling the Carretera Austral with my mom. We reached Puerto Bertrand without knowing where to stay, so we asked around town. They sent us to doña Ester's house.

Her rooms were very cozy and she welcomed us with open arms. Over breakfast we talked, and she told me that internet had only recently reached the area, that she didn't use social media, and that most of her guests came by recommendation.

I thought it was an isolated case. It wasn't. As I kept traveling around Chile, I met many lodging owners who told me something similar: they had incredible places, but they were hard to find online.

I've traveled around Chile and also to other countries, and I've always thought that we have incredible places to visit: mountains, coast, desert, forests, lakes and snow. Very often the problem isn't that there are no places to stay, but that they're hard to find.

The idea for Campio was born in 2023. I started on my own, with no experience building web platforms, and I tried again and again: six versions that never got published. Meanwhile, I talked with many lodging owners, understood their needs, and gradually gave shape to the idea.

After all that, this is the version of Campio that finally launches.”

What we believe in

“At Campio nobody pays to appear first. And we don't leave out those who are just starting: we want to support them and, together with the owners, find how to do it.”

  • Fair

“Nobody pays to appear first. Free competition, without favoring whoever has more resources.”

  • Close

“We listen to owners and look for ways to help them, beyond just visibility.”

  • Welcoming

“Nobody gets left out: we support those who are just starting.”

“I want you to be able to find a place to stay from any corner of Chile, and I want the smallest lodgings to have the same opportunities as those who dominate social media.”
